    Item is a excellent 1940's vintage Art Deco Design TAYLOR "Thermoguide" Mayfair Model Promotional/Advertising Desk Thermometer circa 1940's for the Dobbie Foundry and Machine Co., Niagara Falls, N.Y.  It features a square shaped metal case painted in an industrial black crackle textured finish with a stepped/ribbed decorative chrome trim. It measures 4 inches High X 4 inches Wide X 1 3/4 inches Deep. The pristine 2-tone silver dial has black digits/markers that are accentuated by silver art deco design elements. The protective glass crystal is in great condition. Overall, this collectable piece is in the marvelous vintage original condition in which it was located within a local estate showing light imperfections that are consistent with age/use/storage.
