    Description

Beautifully beaded moccasins collected from the WIND RIVER WYOMING AREA. Made from supple antelope hide tops with thicker harder rawhide soles. Tops are just below ankle with a single lace that wraps around the tongue, ties in front. The bead pattern and individual bead color is carefully repeated in each design and from left and right shoe. None appear to be missing. They measure 9 3/4 inches on the bottom sole curvature, and may have some shrinkage. The thickness indicates they were probably for an adult, but no way to confirm this. The original collector confirmed the reservation family owner/makers were Arapahoe. The soles are slightly worn & soiled/stained with a slight crease at the ball of the foot of the left moccasin. These have been in my personal collection for many years and to my knowledge never been on the market. I purchased them from a resident of Wind River Wyoming. Please see photo's for clarity and condition. Email questions prior to bidding. Thanks for looking.
