    Description

Moultrie Georgia Advertising Sign Thermometer Banking Company Taylor Permacolor.
This is a great early Georgia Advertising piece. It is mainly wood with metal fittings on the thermometer. Please study pictures closely for details on condition. Note chip on bottom right corner. Expect wear. 20.5 inches tall and 5 inches wide. This is a great piece of early real advertising. My best guess to age is around 1930 give or take.
History of the bank: The bank was organized in 1896 and opened in 1898. The building was constructed by T.F. Lockwood in the Beaux-Arts architectural style. In the 1960's it was bought by the Citizens and Southern Bank Company. Since 1971, it has been the Colquitt Loan and Tax Company. This is a contributing building in the Moultire Commercial Disrict and a part of the National Register of Historic Places
