To activate the batteries, you must first remove the tab on underside of vehicle.
Items are new, but boxes are not in perfect condition and show shelf wear/tear.
All ambulances were tested at the time of this listing (for lights/sound).
Notes from my
personal
experience: the stretcher IS removable, but it was difficult to get it back into the vehicle!! Also, the box says to "Press on
roof
for lights & siren sounds", but on our ambulance, it was the vehicle's
hood
. I would say to try both. Other than that, the kids seem to like this toy a lot!
